UPDATE WITH RESPECT TO THE PRIVATE PLACEMENT


Reference is made to the MAS announcements, the last of which was released on 21 February 2014, regarding
the Company’s private placement.

The number of new shares to be offered in terms of the private placement has been increased to 173 987 429
new shares and therefore the amount of capital to be raised in terms of the private placement has been
increased to approximately R2 740 302 000 or approximately €180 000 000 based on an indicative EUR:ZAR
exchange rate of €1.00:R15.2239 as indicated in the Private Placement Memorandum issued on 10 February
2014.

As previously announced on 19 February 2014, the issue price is confirmed at R15.75 per private placement
share for shares to be issued on the South African share register and the Euro equivalent price of R15.75 per
private placement share at the closing exchange rate on the closing date of the private placement, being 11
March 2014, for shares to be issued on the European share register.

The important dates and times relating to the private placement are as published in the announcement on 
21 February 2014 and which are repeated here:

Notices containing the above details in relation to the private placement and application forms have been
dispatched to the Company’s shareholders today.

Invited applicants who intend subscribing for private placement shares on the LuxSE may obtain application
forms from the Company Secretary and invited applicants who intend subscribing for shares on the JSE may
obtain application forms from the bookrunner, Java Capital.
