DECLARED INTERIM DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON SHOPRITE HOLDINGS LIMITED HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND
SECURITIES – (“SHPIHF”)


With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of Shoprite Holdings Limited have declared an interim
dividend of 132 cents per ordinary share payable on Monday, 24 March 2014, to ordinary shareholders and
recorded in the books of the company at the close of business on Thursday, 20 March 2014.

In terms of the new Dividend Tax effective 1 April 2012, the following additional information is disclosed:

1)   local dividend tax rate is 15%;
2)   No STC credits;
3)   net local dividend amount is 112.20 cents per share for shareholders liable to pay the new Dividends Tax and
     132 cents per share for shareholders exempt from paying the new Dividends Tax; and
4)   the issued share capital of Shoprite Holdings Limited is 570,579,460 ordinary shares; and
5)   Shoprite Holdings tax reference number is 9775/112/71/8; and
6)   Investec Bank Limited tax reference number is 9675/053/71/5.

Accordingly, the holders of SHPIHG will receive a Shoprite Holdings Limited dividend amount per security on
Monday, 24 March 2014, in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and
Investec Bank Limited. The last day to trade (“cum” the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be
Thursday, 13 March 2014.

SHPIHG Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading “ex” the dividend from the commencement of
business on Friday, 14 March 2014, and the record date will be Thursday, 20 March 2014.
