SBKI11 Redemption The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited Stock Code: SBKI 11 ISIN Code: ZAG000066382 Dated: 12 February 2014 Redemption of SBKI 11 Tier II Capital Notes On 9 April 2009, The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited (“Standard Bank”) issued ZAR 1,800,000,000 Subordinated Unsecured Notes which qualified as Tier II secondary capital notes (the “SBKI 11 Notes”). The SBKI 11 Notes are subject to the terms and conditions contained in the Programme Memorandum dated 29 October 2008 (the “Programme Memorandum”) as read together with the Applicable Pricing Supplement issued in respect of the SBKI 11 Notes dated 7 April 2009 (the “Applicable Pricing Supplement”). In terms of the Applicable Pricing Supplement, the SBKI 11 Notes mature on 9 April 2019, however, they are redeemable at the option of Standard Bank on 10 April 2014, subject to the prior written approval of the Registrar of Banks. Pursuant to Condition 47(a) of the Applicable Pricing Supplement and after having obtained the requisite prior written approval from the Registrar of Banks, Standard Bank hereby gives notice that it shall redeem the SBKI 11 Notes on 10 April 2014 at the face value thereof, together with any interest accrued thereon up until that date.
