the London Stock Exchange and the JSE Limited of matters which are required to be
disclosed under the Disclosure, Transparency and Listing Rules of the United Kingdom

Accordingly, Investec plc, in accordance with Section 3.83(b) of the JSE Listing

INVESTEC PLC: NOTIFICATION OF INTERESTS IN ORDINARY SHARES OF GBP
0.0002 EACH (“ORDINARY SHARES”):

DISPOSAL OF ORDINARY SHARES BY CLIENTS OF SANLAM INVESTMENT
MANAGEMENT (PTY) LIMITED (“SANLAM”)

Investec plc received formal notification on 07 February, 2014 that clients of Sanlam have, in
aggregate, disposed of an interest in the Ordinary Shares such that the total interest in the
Ordinary Shares held by Sanlam’s clients now amounts to 4.86% of the total issued Ordinary
Shares of Investec plc.
