APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR

The board of the company is pleased to advise, in terms of paragraph 3.59 of the JSE
Listings Requirements, of the appointment of Khutso Ignatius Mampeule as an
independent non- executive director of the company with effect from 1 February 2014.

Mr Mampeule (49) is a non-executive director of JSE-listed Comair Ltd and Niveus
Investments Ltd, as well as of a number of unlisted companies including Lefa Group
Holdings Ltd, an investment holding and advisory group he founded in 2003. He holds
BA, MSc and MBA degrees from the University of Lawrence, Carnegie-Mellon and
Phoenix respectively, in the USA. He was Chief Executive Officer of the South African
Express airline (1999 to 2001), Old Mutual Employee Benefits (2001 to 2003) and the
South African Post Office (2005 to 2007). He is a Trustee of the World Wide Fund for
Nature South Africa and a past member of the advisory board of the University of
Stellenbosch Business School (2006 to 2011).

In welcoming Mr Mampeule to the company, the board noted his academic qualifications
and varied experience across a number of industries, and looked forward to the
contribution he would be making to the Truworths International group from a finance,
logistics and empowerment perspective.
