EXTENSION OF PROVISIONAL LIQUIDATION AND FURTHER CAUTIONARY
ANNOUNCEMENT


Shareholders are referred to the previous announcements released on SENS, the last of which
was released on 18 December 2013, in respect of the provisional winding up of BioScience.

On 23 January 2014 the Company received a letter from a third party containing a proposal and
on the basis thereof, the parties agreed to postpone the matter for a period of 90 days, to allow
the proposal to be considered. The postponement to 28 April 2014 was made an order of Court
on 27 January 2014. The Company will now engage with the third party expand upon and
formalise the details of the proposal. A further announcement will be made at that time.

Under the circumstances shareholders are advised to continue exercising caution when dealing
in the company’s securities until a further announcement is made.

The listing of the company’s shares on the JSE Limited will remain suspended.
