As announced on 18 April 2013, the Australian competition authorities had approved Aspen’s acquisition of the Australian IN business and the transaction became effective in Australia from 28 April 2013. Approval of the South African competition authorities was pending at the date of that announcement. Aspen is pleased to announce that the South African Competition Tribunal has, in a ruling made yesterday, confirmed its approval of Aspen’s acquisition of the Southern African IN business.This was the only outstanding condition precedent in respect of the finalisation of the acquisition of this business and the transaction is expected to be completed on 27 January 2014.
