RETIREMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN AND APPOINTMENT OF
INDEPENDENT CHAIRMAN

In compliance with sections 3.59 to 3.62 of the Listings
Requirements of the JSE Limited, Famous Brands announces the
retirement of Mr Panagiotis (Peter) Halamandaris as Non-
executive Chairman and the appointment of Ms Santie Botha as
Independent Chairman. Mr Halamandaris will assume the role of
Non-executive Director.    These appointments will be with
immediate effect.

Mr Halamandaris, a founding shareholder of the Group, was
appointed Executive Chairman when the company listed on the
stock exchange in 1994, and from 2007 served as Non-executive
Chairman.

The Board extends its sincere thanks to Mr Halamandaris for
his significant contribution to the success of Famous Brands
during his tenure as Chairman, and is delighted to retain his
expertise in his role as Non-executive Director.

Ms Santie Botha was appointed to the Board as a Non-executive
Director in June 2012 and has served as Lead Independent
Director since October 2012. The Board welcomes Ms Botha in
her new capacity.
