CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS



Shareholders are advised that Mr J F Malherbe, non-executive director of Shoprite Holdings,
will not be standing for re-election as a director and will be retiring with effect from the
annual general meeting of Shoprite Holdings to be held on 28 October 2013.

The board wishes to express its sincere gratitude to Mr Malherbe for his invaluable advice
