APPOINTMENT OF NEW INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS TO THE
BOARD
In accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of
the JSE Limited, shareholders are advised that the following
individuals have been appointed as directors of both Business
Connexion and Business Connexion (Proprietary) Limited with
immediate effect.
Alex Darko
Alex is an independent management consultant and executive
coach/mentor with over 30 years multi industry experience in
Europe, USA and Africa. His previous business experience includes
being the Chief Investment Officer of AngloGold Ashanti Limited.
Alex also held a number of senior positions at the Dun &
Bradstreet Corporation, including Director of Finance: Dun &
Bradstreet Europe Ltd and Head of Accounting Re-engineering. He is
a non-executive director of Consolidated Infrastructure Group
Limited, where he is the Chairman of the Remuneration and Social &
Ethics Committees and a member of the Nominations and Audit & Risk
Committees. Alex is also a non-executive director of Mazor Group
Limited, where he chairs the Audit & Risk and Social & Ethics
Committees. Alex has recently been invited to join the Board of
Safintra Investments (Pty) Limited. His qualifications are FCCA,
MSc (MIS).
Mike Ettling
Mike is a chartered accountant with over 20 years’ global
experience in executive management, particularly in the technology
and human resources (“HR”) outsourcing sectors. Most recently
Mike was Chief Executive of NorthgateArinso Ltd (UK), a £950
million global HR services company, providing HR outsourcing, HR
software solutions and HR system integration for Fortune 200
companies. Prior to this, he was with Unisys Credit Services Ltd,
Unisys Payment Services Ltd, Unisys Payment Systems BV (Australia,
UK, Netherlands), latterly as Vice President: Global Business
Process Strategy and Operations, running the business process
outsourcing division with revenues of £650 million. Mike holds an
MSc in Finance and is a certified Chartered Accountant in South
Africa and the United Kingdom.
John Andrew Bester
John previously held executive positions at Ernst & Young and was
involved in the listing of Norwich Holdings Limited. John
currently serves as a non-executive director for various listed
companies, including Clicks Holdings Limited, Sovereign Holdings
Limited, Homechoice Holdings Limited and Tower Property Limited.
John is a Chartered Accountant and also holds a B.Com (Hons) CTA
CMS, AMP and AMP.
Business Connexion is pleased to have appointed individuals of
this calibre to the board of directors, as they bring a depth of
business experience to the Group.
