TRADING STATEMENT

In terms of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited, companies are required to publish a trading statement
as soon as they become reasonably certain that the financial results for the period to be reported on will
differ by more than 20% from that of the previous corresponding period.

Accordingly, a review of the financial results for the year ended 31 July 2013 by management has indicated
that the earnings per share and the headline earnings per share are expected to be between 0.5 and 1.5
cents, compared to the loss per share of 17.3 cents and headline loss per share of 15.2 cents for the year
ended 31 July 2012.

In SecureData Africa, the focus is on revenue generation through the building of strong partner and vendor
relationships whilst at the same time containing costs. In saying this SecureData Africa was able to grow
revenue by 33.7%. SensePost continued to contribute to Group profits.

The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reported on by SecureData’s
