CHANGES TO THE BOARD
In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listing Requirements of
the JSE Limited (“JSE”), shareholders are advised that Ms Thandi
Orleyn has resigned from the board of ArcelorMittal South Africa
(“board”) as an independent non-executive director with effect
from 1 October 2013. The board would like to express their
sincere gratitude towards Ms Orleyn for her contribution and
service to the board for the past five years.
The board further wishes to advise shareholders that Ms Nomavuso
Patience Mnxasana and Mr Jacob Modise have been appointed as
independent non-executive directors with effect from 1 October
2013.
Nomavuso Patience Mnxasana, (BCom, BCompt (Hons), CA(SA)) served
as Group Audit and Risk Head at Imperial Holdings Limited and
currently serves on the following JSE listed boards: Winhold,
Nedbank and JSE. Nomavuso will serve as a member on the following
committees of ArcelorMittal South Africa’s board: audit and risk
committee and safety, health and environment committee.
Jacob Modise (BCom (Wits), B Acc (Wits), CA(SA), MBA (WBS), AMP
(Harvard)) has served on the boards of various professional
organisations including the Independent Regulatory Board for
Auditors (IRBA) and the South African Institute of Chartered
Accountants (SAICA). He has served on a number of JSE listed
boards such MTN, Altron and Eskom. Jacob will serve as a member
on the nomination committee and chair the remuneration, social
and ethics committee of ArcelorMittal South Africa’s board.
The board takes this opportunity to welcome Nomavuso and Jacob to
the board.
