VILLAGE MAIN REEF RESTRUCTURES BOARD


Further to the announcement of Village’s strategic review contained in the Company’s quarterly results,
notification is hereby given of the following changes to the Board of Directors, which changes are effective
from 8 August 2013.

Bernard Swanepoel, previously the Chief Executive Officer of Village has been appointed as Non-Executive
Chairman of the Board of Directors, replacing Roy Pitchford who has tendered his resignation.

Ferdi Dippenaar has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Village. In further changes, Richard de
Villiers, previously Human Resources Director, and Sandeep Gandhi, the Chief Financial Officer, have
resigned. Marius Saaiman, current MD of Village’s platinum operations, has agreed to act as interim Chief
Financial Officer, replacing Sandeep Gandhi.

The resignations of the three directors were tendered in support of Village’s objective of having an
appropriately sized and configured Board of Directors and is aligned with the re-organisation taking place
throughout the Company.

years and would like to extend a special thank you to Roy for his loyal contribution as Chairman of the Board
during the founding years of Village,” said Bernard Swanepoel.
