DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON KUMBA IRON ORE LIMITED HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND SECURITIES –
(“KIOIHC”)


The Directors of Kumba Iron Ore Limited have declared an interim dividend of 2,010 cents payable on Monday, 19
August 2013 to ordinary holders recorded in the books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 16
August 2013.

In terms of the new Dividend Tax effective 1 April 2012, the following additional information is disclosed:

1)   local dividend tax rate is 15%;
2)   STC credits utilised is 0.01820 cents per share;
3)   net local dividend amount is 1,708.50273 cents per share for shareholders liable to pay the new Dividends
     Tax and 2,010 per share for shareholders exempt from paying the new Dividends Tax; and
4)   the issued share capital of Kumba Iron Ore Limited is 322,085,974 ordinary shares; and
5)   Kumba Iron Ore Limited Income Tax Number: 9586/481/15/3; and
6)   Investec Bank Limited Income Tax Number: 9675/053/71/5


Accordingly, the holders KIOIHC will receive a Kumba Iron Ore Limited interim dividend amount per security on,
Monday, 19 August 2013 in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and
Investec Bank Limited. The last day to trade (“cum” the interim dividend) in order to participate in the final cash
dividend will be Thursday, 8 August 2013.

KIOIHC Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading “ex” the final dividend from the commencement
of business on Monday, 12 August 2013, and the record date will be Friday, 16 August 2013.
