CHANGES TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

In   compliance  with   paragraph  3.59(b)  of   the  Listings
Requirements of the JSE Limited, shareholders are hereby
informed that Mr Pierre du Plessis (“Pierre”) has tendered his
resignation as independent non-executive director of the
Company with effect from 4 September 2013.

The controlling shareholder of Rare is of the opinion that the
Company requires a more diverse range of skills, particularly
in the engineering and marketing fields.

Pierre will vacate the position of chairman of the audit
committee and lead independent non-executive director. Hein
Odendaal will be formally appointed as chairman of the audit
committee as well as lead independent non-executive director
at the next board meeting, expected to take place on or about
5 September 2013.

The Board of directors would like to thank Pierre for his
invaluable contributions to the Company during his tenure and
wish him well in his future endeavors.
