Revised trading statement and further cautionary announcement BioScience Brands Limited (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) (Registration number: 1987/001222/06) (JSE code: BIO ISIN: ZAE000115036) (BioScience or the company) Trading statement and cautionary announcement Shareholders are advised that the sale of the Bioharmony brand, as announced on SENS on 11 December 2012 and 1 February 2013, required the release of securities held by the companys bankers. The bank required a contribution toward facilities that was greater than was initially proposed. This has significantly reduced available working capital reserves. The sale of this brand resulted in an impairment of R13,3 million. In addition the remaining brands of the company have experienced poor trading performance over the last quarter as a result of stock shortages and credits associated with the relaunch of new packaging. Accordingly, the loss per share and headline loss per share for the six months ended 31 December 2012 are expected to be more than 20% worse than the previous interim period ended 31 December 2011. A further trading statement containing more specific information will be published once the company has reasonable certainty with regards to its interim financial results for the period ending 31 December 2012. BioScience has received expressions of interest by third parties for the purchase of the Muscle Science business and related assets and has entered into discussions in this regard. If successfully concluded, these discussions may have a material effect on the price of the companys securities. Accordingly shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in the companys securities until a full announcement is made. 4 March 2013 Designated Adviser Exchange Sponsors Date: 26/03/2013 02:38:00 Produced by the JSE SENS Department.
