DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON FIRSTRAND LIMITED HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND SECURITIES (HOT EDS)
– (“FSRIHI”)


The Directors of FirstRand Limited have declared an interim cash dividend of 55 cents per ordinary share payable
on Tuesday, 2 April 2013 to ordinary shareholders recorded in the books of the company at the close of business
on Thursday, 28 March 2013.

In terms of the new Dividend Tax effective 1 April 2012, the following additional information is disclosed:

1)   Local dividend tax rate is 15%;
2)   STC credits utilised is 4.27982 cents per share;
3)   net local dividend amount is 47.39197 cents per share for shareholders liable to pay the new Dividends Tax
     and 55 cents per share for shareholders exempt from paying the new Dividends Tax;
4)   the issued share capital of FirstRand Limited is as follows as at the declaration date; 5,637,941,689 ordinary
     shares and 45,000,000 variable rate, non-cumulative non-redeemable B preference shares;
5)   FirstRand Limited tax reference number is 9150/201/71/4; and
6)   Investec Bank Limited tax reference number is 9675/053/71/5.

Accordingly, the holders of FSRIHI will receive a FirstRand Limited dividend amount per ordinary share payable on
Tuesday, 2 April 2013 in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and
Investec Bank Limited. The last day to trade (“cum” the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be
Wednesday, 20 March 2013.

FSRIHI Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading “ex” the dividend from the commencement of
business on Friday, 22 March 2013 and the record date will be Thursday, 28 March 2013.
