Westonaria, 28 February 2013: Sibanye Gold Limited (JSE: SGL
NYSE: SBGL) regrets to announce the passing of an underground
production employee involved in stoping activities at the Beatrix
mine.

The Department of Mineral Resources has issued a Section 54 work
stoppage notice for the blasting operations at Number 3 Shaft
Beatrix, following the fatal.

Further updates will be released when possible.
