VOLUNTARY ANNOUNCEMENT: PROTECH AWARDED R65 MILLION CONTRACT

Shareholders are advised that Protech’s Contracting division has successfully tendered for the bulk earthworks and
construction of a new solid waste disposal facility in Rustenburg.

The project is expected to commence this week and requires the excavation and stockpiling of over
800’000 m3 of clay turf material and other unsuitable soils and rock as well as the construction of various waste cell
berms and retaining structures with a volume in excess of 500 000 m3. In addition, base preparations will be
constructed using graders and roller compactors, totaling more than 120 000 m3 (equivalent to 18 rugby fields). In
total, over 1.3 million m3 material will be moved.

The value of Protech’s contracted work amounts to R65 million and is required to be completed within nine months
and by moving approximately 10 000 m3 per day.
