EARNINGS EXPECTATION

Shareholders are advised that Aveng anticipates that earnings per share (“EPS”) and headline
earnings per share (“HEPS”) for the six months ended 31 December 2012 will be between 40%
and 50% higher than those of the comparative six month period ended 31 December 2011. The
expectations are therefore as follows:

   -   EPS of between 99.1 cents and 106.2 cents (December 2011: 70.8 cents); and
   -   HEPS of between 98.8 cents and 105.9 cents (December 2011: 70.6 cents).

REPORTING
The above information has not been reviewed or reported on by the Group auditors. The
Group’s results will be released on SENS on 15th March 2013 when the Group will be updating
the market on its business in a presentation in Johannesburg on the same day, and in Cape
Town on 18th March 2013. The presentation will be available for all stakeholders on the
Group’s website, www.aveng.co.za
