                                   CHANGES IN NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

Old Mutual plc ("Old Mutual” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that Ms Danuta Gray has agreed to join its
Board as an independent non-executive director with effect from 1 March 2013. She will also become a member of
the Group Audit, Remuneration and Nomination Committees.

Commenting on her appointment, Patrick O’Sullivan, Chairman of the Company, said:

“We are delighted that Danuta has agreed to join the Board of Old Mutual. Her background in mobile
telecommunications and IT will widen the Board’s skill base as the Group increases its distribution capabilities
using new technologies, and she also has great insight into life assurance and related financial services through
her past experience.”

Ms Gray said:

“I am very pleased to be joining Old Mutual at a most interesting stage of the Group’s strategic development.”

Old Mutual confirms that there are no matters relating to Ms Gray that would require disclosure under Listing Rules
9.6.13 (1) to (6). She does not currently have any beneficial interests in shares in Old Mutual or in its separately
listed subsidiary, Nedbank Group Limited.

The Company has also been informed by Eva Castillo that she wishes to resign from the Board as a non-executive
director with effect from 28 February 2013 because of the burden of her other commitments, in particular those
associated with her role as Chairwoman and CEO of Telefónica Europe, a position that she took on during the
second half of 2012.

Patrick O’Sullivan, Chairman of the Company, said:

“We are very sorry that Eva is leaving our Board. We have greatly valued her contribution to our meetings since
she joined us in February 2011.”
