The Board and management of Village express their deepest condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased. The Department of Mineral Resources (“DMR”) inspectorate in the North West Province was alerted and an initial investigation has been conducted. The inspectorate has issued a Section 54 instruction requiring that all work areas at Buffels be stopped. The management of Buffels is working closely with the DMR to minimize the impact of the stoppage and also prevent deterioration of working place conditions while a full investigation continues.
