BOARD APPOINTMENT 
                                                                  
Aquarius Platinum is pleased to announce the appointment to the Board of Directors of Ms Sonja De 
Bruyn Sebotsa effective 6th February 2013. Ms Sebotsa is a former director of Anglo American 
Platinum Ltd. Ms. De Bruyn Sebotsa's appointment will strengthen the financial acumen of the Board 
and bring her extensive knowledge of international banking and finance to the company.  
 
Ms. De Bruyn Sebotsa has also joined the Board of Aquarius' fully owned subsidiary AQPSA and will 
assume the role of Chairman of AQPSA from acting AQPSA Chairman Mr. Mankazana. Mr. Mankazana 
continues to serve as a non-executive director. 
 
Commenting on the appointment, Aquarius’ Chairman Nicholas Sibley said: 
 
"I am delighted that Sonja has accepted the Board’s invitation to join. She brings a wealth of 
experience and knowledge in a wide range of areas of business and I am sure that she will make a 
valuable contribution to the ongoing growth and success of the company.”  
 
Ms. De Bruyn Sebotsa, LLB (Hons), LSE, MA (McGill), SFA (UK), EMP (Harvard), is a founder and 
principal partner of Identity Partners, an investment, financing and advisory firm. She serves on 
numerous Board's including RMB Holdings Ltd, Discovery Holdings Limited, Nestlé (South Africa) (Pty) 
Ltd and served on the Anglo American Platinum Limited from January 2008 to 1 February 2013. 
 
Sonja’s areas of study were in Law, Business and Economics. She started her career in 1997 in deal 
making in South Africa, Africa and internationally. She was a Vice-President, Investment Banking, at 
Deutsche Bank where she worked in their Johannesburg, London and Tokyo offices on mergers and 
acquisitions, privatizations, IPO's, black economic empowerment transactions and financings. In 2002 
to 2007 she was part of a team that built a portfolio of investments (an endowment) to benefit a 
women's empowerment Trust, Women's Development Bank, through major acquisitions in large 
companies.  
 
She is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum (Class of 2010).
