OPERATIONS AT CROCODILE RIVER MINE
SUSPENDED AFTER FATAL ACCIDENT

Mr. Ian Rozier, President and CEO of Eastern Platinum Limited (“Eastplats” or the “Company”)
reports that mining operations at the Zandfontein Section of the Crocodile River Mine (“CRM”)
have been suspended following a fatal accident at the mine.

Mr. Allan Swartz, a shift supervisor, was fatally injured after falling down an empty ore pass. A
Section 54 Stop Work Order has been issued by the Development of Mineral Resources
(“DMR”) and mining operations at Zandfontein have been stopped pending a full investigation
by the DMR Inspector of Mines.

“This is terrible news for the family affected. Management has made health and safety a key
priority at CRM. This is a tragic accident and it is being investigated thoroughly”, stated Ian
Rozier.
