TRADING STATEMENT

Altech shareholders are referred to the SENS announcement published on 28
January 2013 regarding transactions relating to Altech’s telecommunications
network interests in East Africa and are advised that Altech’s results for
the second half of its current financial year continue to be adversely
affected by the challenges in the East African operations, pending the
fulfilment of the conditions precedent (regulatory approvals, etc.) relating
to this transaction, and its completion.

The remaining operations within Altech are performing satisfactorily.

Taking into account the expected loss on disposal referred to in the SENS
announcement, the company expects that its basic loss per share for the year
ending 28 February 2013 will be more than 200% higher and headline earnings
per share are expected to be more than 20% lower, respectively, than the
comparative figures for the previous financial year.

More specific earnings guidance will be provided as soon as there is
reasonable certainty as to the range by which earnings for the period have
been affected.

This trading statement has not been reviewed or reported on by Altech’s
external auditor.
