Director Share Purchase                                                                          

Coal of Africa Limited (“the Company”) advises that on 5 December 2012 David Brown, a non-Executive
Director of the Company acquired 30,000 shares at an average of price of 1.75 Rand (12.5p).

Following this acquisition Mr Brown is now the beneficial owner of 30,000 shares representing 0.004% of
Company’s issued share capital.
