Fatal accident at Kusasalethu mine

Johannesburg. Monday, 12 November 2012. Harmony Gold Mining
Company Limited ('Harmony' the 'Company) regrets to advise
that one employee died and one employee was injured following a
blasting accident at its Kusasalethu mine near Carletonville
today.

Investigations are currently underway to establish the cause of
the accident. All drilling operations in the immediate area have
been stopped, until investigations have been completed.

Harmony?s   Chief  Executive   Officer, Graham Briggs  and  his
management team, express their deepest sympathy to the families
and colleagues of the deceased.
