POSTING OF CIRCULAR INCORPORATING A NOTICE OF GENERAL MEETING AND REVISED LISTING PARTICULARS

Linked unitholders are referred to the announcements released on SENS on 18 September 2012 and
2 October 2012 relating to the proposed acquisition by Ascension of a portfolio of property letting
enterprises from Capital Property Fund (“Capital”) and various subsidiaries of Capital (“the transaction”).

Linked unitholders are advised that Ascension has today, 1 November 2012, posted a circular containing a
notice of general meeting and revised listing particulars relating to the transaction to linked unitholders
(“the circular”).

The general meeting will be held at 10:00 on Thursday, 30 November 2012 at Ascension’s registered office
(5th Floor, 14 Long Street, Cape Town, 8001) to consider the resolutions necessary to implement the
transaction.

The transaction has been approved by the Competition Authorities and remains subject only to Ascension
receiving the requisite unitholder approval at the general meeting referred to above. The company has
received irrevocable undertakings from unitholders representing more than 50% of the issued linked unit
capital of Ascension to vote in favour of the resolutions relating to the transaction rendering the transaction
unconditional.

The salient dates and times relating to the transaction are set out below. Words and expressions in the
timetable shall have the same meanings as assigned to them in the circular.
