UPDATE: VILLAGE MAIN REEF ISSUES FINAL ULTIMATUM TO STRIKING WORKERS AT
BLYVOOR

Village advises that the Company will issue a final ultimatum to 1 700 employees engaged in an illegal
strike at its Blyvooruitzicht gold mine to return to work for the night shift on Sunday, 14 October 2012.
Failure to heed the ultimatum by any of these employees will result in that employee’s services being
terminated (the “affected employees”).

Employees at Blyvooruitzicht have been on strike since Thursday, 27 September 2012.

The affected employees will have until Wednesday, 17 October 2012 to appeal against their dismissals.
