NONCOMPETITIVE AUCTION OPTION INCREASE TO 50 PERCENT

NON COMPETITIVE AUCTION OPTION INCREASE TO 50 PERCENT

The National Treasury announces that the non-competitive auction option will
increase from the current 30 percent to 50 percent with effect from
1 August 2012 until 30 November 2012.

This increase is applicable for the auctions conducted from Tuesday, 7 August
until 27 November 2012. The non-competitive auction option will still be
applicable for 48 hours period

This is to accommodate the potential increase in demand due to the inclusion of
South Africa in the Citigroup’s World Global Bond Index.
