DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT IN RELATION TO THE AGL SHARE INSTALMENT

Notice is hereby given that as a result of the dividend declaration relating to
ANGLO AMERICAN PLC (AGL) shares, the holders of AGLSTF share instalments will
receive a ANGLO AMERICAN PLC (AGL) dividend of 268.89 cents per Instalment.
Please note a 15% dividend withholding tax (DWT) will be applicable to non-
exempt warrant holders resulting in a net payment of 228.5565 SA cents per
Instalment.


Last date to trade cum dividend Friday, 10/08/2012
Ex-dividend Date Monday, 13/08/2012
Record Date Friday, 17/08/2012
Payment Date Thursday, 13/09/2012
