DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT IN RELATION TO THE BTI SHARE INSTALMENT

Notice is hereby given that as a result of the dividend declaration relating to
BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO PLC (BTI) shares, the holders of BTISTA share
instalments will receive a BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO PLC (BTI) dividend of
553.12384 cents per Instalment.
Please note a 15% dividend withholding tax (DWT) will be applicable to non-
exempt warrant holders resulting in a net payment of 470.155264 SA cents per
Instalment.

Last date to trade cum dividend Friday, 10/08/2012
Ex-dividend Date Monday, 13/08/2012
Record Date Friday, 17/08/2012
Payment Date Wednesday, 26/09/2012
