ROB EVANS APPOINTED TO THE BOARD                                                
Datatec Limited ("Datatec" or "the Group", JSE/AIM: DTC), the international     
Information and Communications Technology (ICT) group announces the appointment 
of Rob Evans to the Board on 1 May 2012.                                        
The appointment of Rob Evans as Chief Financial Officer-designate was announced 
on 18 January 2012.  As was also detailed in that announcement, Ivan Dittrich   
will resign from the Board on 1 June 2012 when Rob will officially succeed him  
as the Chief Financial Officer.                                                 
Details of the appointment including Rob`s experience within the Group were     
given in the announcement on 18 January 2012.  In accordance with paragraph (g) 
of Schedule 2 of the AIM Rules the other companies of which Rob has been a      
director in the past five years are:                                            
The Light Guide Company Limited    - from 16/11/98 to date;                     
Towerblue Group Limited            - from 16/11/05 to date;                     
Countervista Limited               - from 17/01/06 to date;                     
Sherpa Compliance Limited          - from 19/01/06 to dissolution on 06/12/11;  
Boardaware Limited                 - from 03/08/06 to dissolution on 06/12/11;  
Cornwall Energy Associates Limited - from 03/12/10 to date.
