TRU - Truworths International Limited - Trading statement Truworths International Limited (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) (Registration number 1944/017491/06) JSE Code: TRU NSX Code: TRW ISIN: ZAE000028296 TRADING STATEMENT Truworths International Limited (the Group) expects that both basic earnings and headline earnings per share for the first 26 weeks (from 27 June until 25 December 2011) of the 2012 financial year will be between 11% and 15% higher relative to the corresponding period in the 2011 financial year. In the 26 week period, Group retail sales increased by 10.7% to R 4.8 billion which is up from the 9.3% growth recorded for the first 19 weeks. Product inflation averaged 8% for both the 19 and 26 week periods. Comparable store retail sales grew by 6.2% for the first 26 weeks, up from the 4.7% increase over the first 19 weeks. Trading space increased by 4.4% relative to the prior corresponding period-end. At the end of the 26 week period the Group`s gross trade receivables had increased by 16.6% to R 3.9 billion relative to the prior period-end. Credit sales contributed 73% (prior period 70%) to retail sales and the receivables` book continued to perform in accordance with management`s expectations. Shareholders are advised that this trading statement does not constitute an earnings forecast, and that the financial information provided has neither been reviewed nor reported on by the external auditors.
