TRU - Truworths International Limited - Trading statement Truworths International Limited (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) (Registration number 1944/017491/06) JSE Code: TRU NSX Code: TRW ISIN: ZAE000028296 TRADING STATEMENT Truworths International Limited (the Group) advises that it expects both basic and headline earnings per share for the 52 week trading period to 26 June 2011 ("the period") to be between 18% and 22% higher than those reported for the 52 week period to 27 June 2010 ( "the prior period"). During the period, group retail sales increased by 13.5% to R 8.1 billion, while comparable (same store) retail sales increased by 8.9% and product inflation averaged 4%. Credit sales comprised 71% of retail sales (2010: 70%) during the period, whilst trading space increased by 5.4% relative to the prior period-end. Gross trade receivables increased to R 3.3 billion and were 17.6% higher than at the prior period-end. The receivables` book continued to perform satisfactorily in accordance with management`s expectations. Investors are advised that this trading statement does not constitute an earnings forecast, and that the financial information provided has neither been reviewed nor reported on by the external auditors.
