Mr Peter Esterhuysen, who in addition to his role as CFO has been heading PPC`s business development activities during the past year will relinquish his CFO responsibilities and his board appointment will be changed to that of the executive director responsible for PPC`s business development and international expansion. PPC CEO, Paul Stuiver said; "I am excited to have Tryphosa join PPC and look forward to her valuable contribution. Her background and experience will add an extra dimension to the executive team. Peter Esterhuysen`s business development role has grown significantly during the last year and he will now be able to focus his undivided attention to the challenging task of executing our international expansion plans." Peter Esterhuysen has 15 years` experience in the company and has served on the board as CFO since 2003. His new role on the board is aligned with the company`s long-term continuity plans. Tryphosa Ramano has established an impressive track record in the financial profession. Her curriculum vitae boasts positions ranging from auditing, investment management and corporate finance to being the CFO of SAA from 2004 to 2006 and most recently the CFO of WIPHOLD. Despite additional non-executive directorship roles Tryphosa finds time to pursue transformation in the financial services sector through her leadership of the African Woman Chartered Accountants (AWCA) society and the establishment of the Institute of Investment Excellence, which focuses on attracting and training candidates from disadvantaged backgrounds into the financial services industry. While working as the chief director: asset management (National treasury), Tryphosa was responsible for the restructuring of State-Owned Assets, ensuring compliance by public entities with the Public Finance Management Act, monitoring contingent liabilities of government and was instrumental in developing a new division to focus on financial analysis and treasury operation of SOE`s (state owned entities). It was also during this period that Tryphosa formed part of the team that listed Telkom on the Johannesburg and New York Stock Exchanges. As CFO of SAA from 2004 to 2006, Tryphosa made significant achievements including the closing of SAAs` R6 billion hedge book; the restructuring of the finance department and the implementation of the SAA turnaround strategy in 2004/05. At WIPHOLD she was responsible for the group`s financial management and strategic development, whilst also representing WIPHOLD on the boards of companies in which WIPHOLD is a shareholder.
