ART - Argent - Trading Statement Argent Industrial Limited (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) Registration Number: 1993/002054/06 ISIN: ZAE000019188 JSE Share Code: ART ("Argent" or "the Group") TRADING STATEMENT In terms of paragraph 3.4(b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, companies are required to publish a trading statement as soon as they are reasonably certain that the financial results for the current reporting period will differ by more than 20% from those of the previous corresponding period. Argent accordingly advises that it expects the Group`s headline earnings per share for the year ended 31 March 2011 to be between 275% and 290% higher compared to the previous corresponding period. This equates to an expected headline earnings per share of between 54.04 and 56.2 cents per share, compared to headline earnings of 14.4 cents per share reported for the previous corresponding period. Earnings per share for the year ended 31 March 2011 are estimated to be between 360% and 375% higher compared to the previous corresponding period. This equates to an expected earnings per share of between 58.39 and 60.29 cents per share, compared to earnings of 12.7 cents per share reported for the previous corresponding period. The above information has not been reviewed or reported on by the Group`s external auditors. It is anticipated that the results for the year ended 31 March 2011 are to be published on or about 23 June 2011 and the annual report to be posted before 30 June 2011.
