Mr Nxasana exercised the option on 15 April 2011. In separate transactions Mr Nxasana sold 1 175 999 FirstRand ordinary shares on 15 April 2011, and sold 824 001 FirstRand ordinary shares on 21 April 2011. He applied part of the proceeds of the sales to increase his participation in the private transaction between the FirstRand and RMBH Founders and a group of FirstRand executives (which was announced on SENS on 7 February 2011).Refer also to the SENS announcement of 19 April 2011.
