HWN - Howden Africa Holdings Limited - Chairman`s Statement at the Annual General Meeting Howden Africa Holdings Limited (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) (Registration number 1996/002982/06) Share code: HWN ISIN: ZAE000010583 ("HAHL") Chairman`s Statement at the Annual General Meeting After 5 months of the current financial year I am sure shareholders would wish me to update them regarding the present trading position. Order book levels in the Fans and Heat Exchangers division have remained ahead of the position reported at the end of December 2009. The slowdown in private sector investment, however, has affected the Environmental Control division which continues to report a decline in its order book despite a number of promising prospects, and this will raise challenges through the year. However, the Board has resolved to focus on maintaining the quality of earnings in line with prior years despite Revenue pressures. Dividend Announcement It gives me pleasure to report that the strength of the Group`s balance sheet allows that consideration be given to a special dividend and in this regard the Directors have resolved to declare a dividend of 75 cents payable to all shareholders registered in the books of the Company on 25 June 2010.
