AGM Shareholders are advised that, at the Annual General Meeting of Standard Bank Group held on 27 May 2010, all of the resolutions set out in the Notice of the Annual General Meeting dated 5 April 2010 were passed by the requisite majority of shareholders. Standard Bank Group and The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited announce the retirement of the chairman Derek Cooper, who retired at the conclusion of the meeting. Derek Cooper thanked Martin Shaw, who also retired at the conclusion of the meeting, for his contribution and the pivotal role he played as an independent non-executive director and chairman of both the audit and risk and capital management committees. Rick Menell, now the longest serving director, paid tribute to Derek Cooper and noted that the boards were highly appreciative of the extraordinary role that he played during his tenure and for the guidance and leadership that he provided and wished him well. 2.
