BEL - Bell Equipment Limited - Change To The Board Of Directors Bell Equipment Limited (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) (Registration number: 1968/013656/06) ISIN: ZAE000028304 Share Code: BEL ("Bell Equipment" or "the Company" or "the Group") CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS In compliance with the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, the following information is disclosed: At the recent board meeting of the directors of Bell Equipment, held on 17 December 2009, Mr Howard Buttery announced his retirement as Chairman and director of the board of Bell Equipment. Mr Buttery has stated that his decision is based on his desire to scale down his executive duties in the Bell Equipment Group enabling him to spend more time with his family and to give more attention to his personal business interests. Mr Buttery has agreed to continue to assist the Group in an advisory capacity for the forseeable future. His retirement will be effective from the Company`s next annual general meeting to be held on 6 May 2010 upon which date Mr Mike Mun-Gavin, a current director of the Company, will succeed him as independent non-executive Chairman of the board. In addition, Mr Leon Goosen will be appointed to the board as an executive director in line with the Group`s succession planning, also effective 6 May 2010. Mr Andre McDuling will be appointed as an alternate director to both Messrs Gary Bell and Leon Goosen from this date. The board and management of the Group wish to express their gratitude to Mr Buttery for the 32 years of dedicated and loyal service to the Group. His pioneering role in establishing Bell Equipment as a global player in the heavy equipment manufacturing and distribution industry and market leader in the South African articulated dump truck business has been invaluable to the Group.
