In the light of this requirement, Shoprite hereby states that it expects both basic and fully diluted earnings per share as well as headline earnings per share and diluted headline earnings per share for the 12 months ended June 2009 to be between 25% and 35% higher than those of the corresponding period in 2008. Shareholders are advised that the above information has not been reviewed or reported on by Shoprite`s external auditors. The company`s results for the 12 months ended 30 June 2009 are expected to be released on or about 25 August 2009.
