TSX - Trans Hex Group Limited - Trading Statement TRANS HEX GROUP LIMITED Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa Registration number (1963/007579/06) Share code: TSX ISIN: ZAE000018552 ("Trans Hex" or "the Company" or "the Group") TRADING STATEMENT Trans Hex is currently finalising its results for the six months ended 30 September 2008 ("the period"), which should be released on SENS on 12 November 2008. Continuing Operations The loss for the period is expected to be R56,0 million compared to a loss of R2,7 million for the corresponding reporting period of the previous year. The Group is expecting to report a loss per share of 53,0 cents (2007: loss of 2,6 cents) and headline loss per share of 52,0 cents (2007: loss of 22,0 cents). Discontinued Operations The operations of two deepwater mining vessels have been discontinued at financial year end. The after tax loss for the period was R8,4 million (2007: R8,4 million). The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed and reported on by the Company`s auditors. Comments The loss for the period was due primarily to the last tender sale coinciding with the global banking credit crisis, which resulted in lower volumes sold, as well as a 20% drop in the average price per carat. This reduced revenue by approximately R78 million.
