YRK - York - Updated Trading Update The York Timber Organisation Limited (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) Registration number 1916/004890/06) Share code: YRK ISIN: ZAE000008108 ("York" or "the Group") UPDATED TRADING UPDATE Shareholder are referred to the trading update dated 5 September 2008 and are advised of the following update. In compliance with the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited and in respect of the 18 months ended 30 June 2008, compared to the previous 12 months ended 31 December 2006 ("previous corresponding period"), because of the change in the financial year end during 2007 from 31 December to 30 June, the Group hereby advises shareholders that: - basic earnings per share are expected to be 259% above those of the previous corresponding period; and - headline earnings per share are expected to be 287% above those of the previous corresponding period. In respect of the six month ended 30 June 2008, and comparing it with the comparable six month period ended 30 June 2007 ("comparable period") , the Group hereby advises shareholders that: - basic and headline earnings per share are expected to be 246% higher than those of the comparable period; Shareholders are advised that the financial information contained in this trading update has neither been reviewed nor reported on by the company`s external auditors.
