NPK - Nampak - Further announcement to shareholders regarding the proposal by The Bidvest Group Limited to acquire 25% of Nampak and cautionary announcement Nampak Limited (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) Registration number: 1968/008070/06) ISIN: ZAE000071676 Share code: NPK ("Nampak") FURTHER ANNOUNCEMENT TO SHAREHOLDERS REGARDING THE PROPOSAL BY THE BIDVEST GROUP LIMITED ("BIDVEST") TO ACQUIRE 25% OF NAMPAK AND CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT Further to the cautionary announcement issued on 4 September 2008, shareholders are advised that the board of directors of Nampak ("the Board") met on 9 September 2008 to discuss the announcement released by Bidvest on 4 September 2008 ("Bidvest Announcement"). In terms of the Bidvest Announcement, Bidvest advised of its intention to make a pro rata offer to all Nampak shareholders to acquire up to 25% of the ordinary shares held by each Nampak shareholder ("the Pro Rata Offer"). Bidvest indicated that the Pro Rata Offer would be made by no later than 17:00 on 17 September 2008. The Board will respond to the Pro Rata Offer once formally made by Bidvest to the shareholders of Nampak. Shareholders are therefore advised to continue to exercise caution when dealing in Nampak securities until a further announcement is made.
