PRUDENTIAL NEW BUSINESS RESULTS FOR THE FULL YEAR ENDED 31 DECEMBER 2007        
Prudential Health Limited ("PruHealth") is Discovery`s joint venture in the     
United Kingdom, owned equally by Discovery and Prudential plc.                  
Shareholders are referred to the announcement by Prudential plc earlier today of
its full year 2007 new business results, which contains the following           
information in respect of PruHealth:                                            
"Commentary on Full Year 2007 New Business Results                              
During 2007, PruHealth continued to grow strongly with gross written premiums of
GBP64 million up 80 per cent on 2006. This business now covers 142,000 lives,   
reflecting an emphasis on individual and SME business, success in introducing   
new distribution deals, a focus on high quality corporate schemes and a strong  
renewal rate among individual customers."                                       
Further information in respect of PruHealth will be provided in Discovery`s     
results for the six-months ended 31 December 2007, to be released on 26 February
2008.
