Pursuant to DTR 3.1.2 R of the Disclosure and Transparency Rules, Mr Farmer, a  
director of Lonmin Plc, notified the Company that he today exercised an option  
over 27,000 shares of $1 each of the Company at an exercise price of GBP11.50.  
Mr Farmer retained 6,530 shares and sold the remaining 20,470 shares at         
GBP35.57. Following this transaction, Mr Farmer`s total personal shareholding in
the Company is 35,821 shares.
