Settlement between SARS and Nampak                                              
On 11 December 2007 SARS and Nampak issued a joint media release in which it    
was recorded that Nampak and SARS had reached agreement on a settlement on a    
number of tax issues in dispute. Nampak reports that it agreed to a settlement  
of R 250 million for such issues. Nampak had a provision of approximately       
R 350 million on its balance sheet for the matters in dispute and consequently  
approximately R 100 million will be released from the provision.                
Nampak is very pleased to have resolved the disputes with SARS, which include   
both the contingent tax liabilities relating to Malbak as well as the           
historical tax matters relating to Nampak.
