REPORT ON PROCEEDINGS AT ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING                                 
At the tenth (10th) annual general meeting of the shareholders of FirstRand     
held today, 29 November 2007, the requisite majority of shareholders            
approved all the ordinary resolutions and the special resolution proposed       
at the meeting.                                                                 
The special resolution will be registered with CIPRO in due course.
