CSB - Cashbuild Limited - First quarter operational update - FY 2008 CASHBUILD LIMITED (Registration number: 1986/001503/06) (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) JSE share code: CSB & ISIN: ZAE000028320 ("Cashbuild" or "the company") FIRST QUARTER OPERATIONAL UPDATE - FY 2008 In line with past practice and disclosure, Cashbuild provides herewith, its quarterly trading update. Revenue for the company was up by 16% on the 1st quarter of the prior financial year. Stores opened since 1 July 2006 (new stores) contributed 7% of the increase, and existing stores contributed 9%. Transactions through the tills increased by 12% with new stores adding 8% and existing stores contributing 4%. Units sold decreased by 6% (existing stores: 12% decrease), mostly related to brick and block sales, where one brick/block equals one unit. In line with the store rollout plan, no new stores were opened, nor any store refits done during this quarter. The number of stores trading at the end of the quarter remained at 164. However various projects pertaining to new stores, store refurbishments and store relocations were in progress during this period that should result in two stores being opened, five stores being refurbished and one store being relocated during the next four months.
